BREVE HISTÓRIA DO VENTO, 35mm half frame, 5’, Dinamarca 2003
Brief History of Wind, Denmark 2003
Shot with a modified 35 mm camera, this experimental film is composed by more than five thousand stills. I was attending the Euopean Film College in 2002-2003 and filmed "Brief History of Wind" as an extra curricular project. I took my 35 mm camera and made an experiment. I shot sequences of photographs in stop motion of different scenes: portraits of the other students, the lunch room, inside the cinema room, people in their daily lives and surrounding landscapes. The stop motion gives a different dimension to time. It is not real time and the movement between frames makes the camera fly through space.
This experimental film was kindly supported by KODAK who provided the film, NORDISK FILM who supported the developing at Japan-Photo Arhus, ZENTROPA and SHORTCUT that provided the fund to digitise and finish the film.It was screened at the Byen Lys in Copenhagen on December 7th 2003.
